June 2017: TEDxGeneva Talk “Slow Fashion – Food for Thought”
Giving a talk at TEDxGeneva 2017 about slow fashion was a dream come true! It was both nerve-racking and magical, and I am still under the event’s spell. The video will be available as of August. In the meantime, here is a teaser produced by the very talented and committed TEDxGeneva team.

May 2016: “Luxurious Nature” BPW Lake Geneva Talk
In early May, I had a delightful evening talking about luxury, conservation and sustainability at the first English-speaking Business Professional Women (BPW) Club in Switzerland, BPW Lake Geneva. It was great to find a lot of shared concerns among this amazing group of women, and to get acquainted with BPW itself!
April 2016: Un-Dress Workshop and Fashion Show in St Gallen
In conjunction with the 2016 Fashion Revolution Week, I was invited by Oikos St Gallen to give a talk at the Un-Dress workshop with St Gallen University students together with Theresa Hamilton, Coordinator of Fashion Revolution Switzerland and Tobias Meier who leads Helvetas’ Slow Fashion Container project. March 2015: World Wildlife Day Celebrations – Geneva
On the occasion of World Wildlife Day, 3 March, I was invited to speak at an event in Geneva organized by the United Nations about the wild side of luxury alongside representatives from the US and Swiss governments, industry, museums and conservation groups.
July 2014: Guest Lecture on Sustainable Luxury at SUMAS
On the invitation of the Sustainability Management School – Switzerland (SUMAS), the first business school totally dedicated to sustainability and the only one to offer a Master of Arts in Sustainable Luxury Management, I gave a guest lecture on Sustainable Luxury, speaking about sustainability as a key trend shaping the luxury industry and the ways in which sustainability and luxury can go together.
March 2014: Forests for Fashion – Fashion for Forests
On the occasion of the International Day of Forests, 21 March 2014, I took part in the Forests for Fashion – Fashion for Forests conference at the United Nations Office in Geneva, which focused on innovative forest fibers, and how they contribute to a greener economy while being fashionable and marketable. In addition to the conference, the programme included art performances, a fashion show, and the opening of a fashion exhibit. I was speaking on the panel exploring how sustainable fashion can become more mainstream alongside Mario Boselli, President of the Italian National Chamber of Fashion, and Gucci sustainability manager Rossella Ravagli.
January 2014: Greenshowroom (Berlin, Germany)
From 14-16 January 2014 I will be attending the Greenshowroom, the annual sustainable luxury and fashion show held in Berlin’s Kronprinzenpalais. I look forward to discovering and reporting on some of Europe’s most fabulous, fresh and forward-looking brands, and to be attending the Salon Show on the invitation of Greenshowroom organizers. What a great way to start one’s green-and-glam year!
December 2013: Interview with Dukascopy TV (Geneva, Switzerland)
Swiss Financial Television Dukascopy invited me to their Geneva studios to speak about sustainable luxury (in Russian). What is sustainable luxury? Which markets are the most advanced? What are the prospects for sustainable luxury in emerging markets? Is there such thing as a guilt-free luxury product? These are just some of the questions we discussed in the nine-minute interview you can watch here on Dukascopy website.
November 2013: Designgut (Winterthur, Switzerland)
I have been invited to speak at this year’s Designgut, Swiss sustainable design exhibition and conference, which runs from 1-3 November in Winterthur, Switzerland. August 2013: Video Interview ‘Old Europe’s Luxury Goes Green’
Ivetta Gerasimchuk, a writer and an economist, spoke to me about Switzerland’s iconic luxury industry. The video gives you a foretaste of which electric racing car was launched in Switzerland, what Gucci product is rainforest-friendly, and how you can pick up ‘a Rolex of tomorrow’.
July 2013: SOS Nature Flash Conferences (Cité du Temps, Geneva, Switzerland)
As part of a series of lunchtime conferences organized by SOS – Save Our Species programme, I spoke about the use of wildlife in the luxury industry – from wool and leather to perfumes and fine foods – asking the trillion-dollar question: Can nature continue to sustain the luxury industry?
May 2013: Russian Eco-Fashion Week (Manezh, Moscow, Russia)
Together with my good friend and sustainable fashionista Julia Polonskaya, I gave a presentation titled ‘Eco-luxury: An oxymoron or an imperative for the future?’ during the 2013 Russian Eco Fashion Week. Here is some coverage of the event and our talk about eco-luxury globally and in Russia.
May 2013: G21 Swisstainability Forum (IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland)
Held at one of Switzerland’s top management schools, G21 is Switzerland’s annual sustainability forum which takes its name from the meetings of the G20 and the UN’s Agenda 21. This year, I joined an impressive panel of experts and practitioners for a thought-provoking discussion on how to make the luxury industry a model for sustainability or, as they say it in French, “Challenge pour demain : faire de l’économie du luxe un modèle pour la durabilité ?”.
